Text: Especially with #Ferguson all over social media, here’s my pet peeve: People who complain about racist family/friends without actively confronting them. Unless you’re depending on this racist for your livelihood, e.g. living in their home or relying on their income and they could cut you off, CALL THEM OUT. That racist aunt you visit maybe 3 times a year is posting about “thugs”? Send her facts. Show her the hypocrisy of her words. Don’t just let it go because you don’t want to “cause trouble”, THIS IS THE TROUBLE. And this applies to non-black POC. Recognize the anti-blackness in our communities (Asian Americans, you have a big responsibility in this) and do something about it. I always say no one is obligated to educate strangers that pop up demanding a breakdown of race relations, but if you consider yourself an ally yet can’t even confront that guy from high school you keep around on Facebook? I call bullshit.

Jeffrey Grossman, a Chatham High School graduate, was apprehended by the U.S. Secret Service last Thursday when he successfully climb over the White House fence. He was wearing a Pokemon-themed shirt and hat, and carried a Pikachu doll from the Pokemon card game and cartoon.

Grossman went to an out-of-state hospital to admit himself for mental health treatment but was unable to due to his healthcare coverage. When he asked about it further, he was told that was how the healthcare system is set up and he should talk with the president about it. He then traveled to Washington, D.C.

“I was informed that, when he was apprehended, he told security that he had come to talk with the president about his health care program,” his mother, a local pharmacist, said.

A Texas man is under arrest after gunning down a SWAT team member as the officer quietly tried to climb in through the apartment’s window during predawn hours.

Police State USAreports  that a resident fatally shot Detective Charles “Chuck” Dinwiddie as the officer climbed in through a ground level window as part of a “no knock” raid. The officers were there due to suspicion that residents were in possession of controlled substances.

Upon hearing a noise, resident Marvin Louis Guy, 50, opened fire on the unidentified officers, shooting three others as well, although only one fatally.

Guy is currently being held on capital murder charges in connection with Dinwiddie’s death, even though it’s unclear how Guy was supposed to know that the men crawling in through the window were police officers since they hadn’t identified themselves.

The evidence sheet lists a laptop, a safe, a pistol, and a glass pipe, but no drugs were found. Given the evidence, why did police deem it necessary to seek a “no knock” warrant and why did a judge sign off on it?

Very little is known about Mr. Guy, but Dinwiddie left behind two children, all because his SWAT team went creeping into a home where the residents didn’t even have any drugs. Is that the best use of law enforcement tax dollars?

Guy’s bond has been set at $3 million dollars.

Thank you lieutenantnorals!

"I took a 7 week coast to coast road trip after being laid off from Boeing. I didn’t have a camper but realized that being able to pull off the road at a rest or truck stop was the way to go to make the trip affordable. With a few sheets of 1/2” plywood and misc. hardware this is what I came up with. The effort was well worth the time and materials."

Read it again:  EVERY.  SINGLE.  REPUBLICAN.  Yes, that includes women.

“It’s politics,” said Republican Sen. Deb Fischer of Nebraska. “It’s a one-sided vote for political reasons, so [Democrats] can use it in campaigns.”
